While everyone else is drooling over the world’s hottest soccer players and let’s face it all soccer players are smokin’ I decided to check out the U.S. Open. Don’t scratch your head, they didn’t move up the September Tennis Grand Slam, I’m talking about the golf tournament.
As of Saturday it seemed like wow, this is exciting play. However, as happens in the major tournaments I’ve watched, Sunday seems to be a matter of who makes the least mistakes. For the first time in the history of the tournament that lucky fellow was 30 year old Graeme McDowell of Ireland. Tis the Irish in me that needs to salute Mr. McDowell. Why? McDowell’s absolute joy for winning. He cradled that trophy like a baby he’d managed to rescue from the clutches of Madonna and Angelina Jolie combined. Congrats Graeme!
