Dear Readers,
You may have noticed a change in my blog since the amazing, adorable, bat-eared puppy Elle has entered my life. She has turned me upside down with good cause and always keeps me laughing, curious and learning. She’s even changed my viewing habits (go Animal Planet, Nat Geo and Discovery Channel.)
I have noticed that my updates have become a bit more sporadic so I’m trying to still maintain it, share things that are exciting my neurons and make you out there a bit entertained. Now onto the regular information these types of bio pages provide. FYI, links to articles I’ve written can be found at the bottom.
I have worked in the entertainment industry primarily digital music programming & marketing for a long time having some amazing experiences along the way! There have many fun moments and many dark, shady moments.
My blog is mostly about my fur baby Frenchie ELLE, sharks, travel, all things Eurasian, George Michael (my love will never wither or fade), books, all things digital, Cy Twombly & modern art, and whatever else excites my neurons. While I have worked at major records labels, but that phase of my career is over like ‘Charlie’s Angels’ part 2 the revenge.
While there is a bevy of great options to select from there are three of the jobs that most made an impact on me:
1) Disney/ABC Cable: this was grad school for the industry. I worked at one of the world’s most recognized brands and was part of the marketing team who came up with Zoog Disney. Nowadays it’s par for the course there is an online component to every program and business, but back in 1997 that was unheard of and the 80 hour workweeks show there was a lot to be done bringing those worlds together. I also produced the number one subsite of Disney.com at the time- the music channel that accompanied all the on-air specials. I got paid to hang out with The Backstreet Boys in New York, Britney Spears at Walt Disney World in Orlando and produce celebrity chats every week that included many stars, none bigger than Mickey Mouse! (Okay you pop fans may argue with me but that was N’Sync’s 1st album, 98 Degrees sort-of-never-quite-got-there-heyday and of course, Backstreet was back awright?)
2) GetMusic.com: I was the Pop Producer and Director of Community. We changed ownership from a JV (that’s joint venture for the layman) of Universal and BMG to full ownership by Vivendi Univeral Internet Group. Getmusic continued to merge with Rollingstone.com- thus my bylines below, Mp3.com and even Farm Club. I’m an old school ‘new media’ pro.
3) Yahoo! Music where I was the Head of Music Video Programming. I blogged for Yahoo! about synergy (thanks for making me an expert on that Disney!) , worldwide domination and we took the music mantel away from MTV for a while. That was until YouTube came along and made fruitless all the pulling out of hair chasing down videos to get encoded for Premieres & other features.
I was talking to a friend of mine and he remarked I know a lot of cool people. I thought what better way of giving tribute to those amazing people in my life then starting a weekly ‘Follow Friday’ interview with people I follow on Twitter? Thus began my “5 Questions With” series. It’s been a very popular item and I truly love revealing a bit more than 140 characters will allow.
Below are some of the author and artist interviews I’ve done in the past, sometimes URLS change but you get the idea. There are more out there, floating in the zeether of this interweb. 2012 will see a few more articles for SheKnows.com.
Love, laughter and pop glitter!

Me on The Engadget Show 7/28/11 * Please note is was totally worth braving the terrential downpour to get there (the men had a glam team, I did not. The men were used to sitting in the horribly uncomfortable chairs, I was not!)
